BTS has made their army ecstatic with their announcement about a new album. Titled 'Map of Soul: 7,' the album is a follow up to 'Map of Soul: Persona' which released in 2019.

This is the same album that featured the BTS' collaboration with Halsey titled 'Boy with Luv'. The announcement was made on BTS' official Twitter handle through their app Weverse.

The announcement read, "BTS 'Map of the Soul: 7' will be released on Friday, February 21. Pre-orders will begin on Thursday, January 9. Additional details about the new release will be available on BTS Weverse and the fan cafe. We look forward to continued interest and support from all of our Army. Thank you!"

Since the announcement, fans have expressed their happiness about the new music that will be available from their favorite band. They are also trying to figure out what the title of the album signifies.

One of the fans wondered if this album is essentially the map to the seven members' -- RM, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, Suga, V, J-Hope -- soul! There are also speculations that the "7" in the album title refers to their seventh EP.

One of the fans on Reddit wrote, "I'm thinking it's OT7 related too (or combination of meanings), but GOD if they go for a 7 deadly sins photo concept we may actually all die." Another fan replied, "Army has wanted 7 deadly sins for a LONG time. imagine they actually give it to us. imagine yoongi (Suga) gets to just sleep."

The album title also came as a surprise to fans because BTS' next album was widely speculated to be titled along the lines of either Shadow or Ego. The fact that the announcement for pre-order has come weeks ahead of the release has now led fans to speculate that the band has either made the announcement because fans were awaiting new music with fervor, or because they have some interesting teasers that are set to be released by them.

A fan wrote, "This is such a long preorder period these teasers are going to be WILD I think we're getting BST era video teasers again." To this, another fan replied, "Didn't think about it, but!!! You're right!!! It's such a long waiting period, either they saw we were getting antsy and announced it in advance, or we may be getting some sweet teasers... I hope for the latter."
