5 strange BTS fan theories in Bangtan Universe that remain unanswered, from Butterfly effect to mystery figure
'On Stage: Prologue' we saw V jumping in the water and in ‘Euphoria’, Jin jumped in the water signifying that he could interchange his fate with V to save him. Can he save them all?
BTS discography including BTS music videos and songs makes up the whole of Bangtan Universe, which weaves the most complex and unique storyline blending philosophy, history, Psychology, and a good bit of BTS’ personal stories. In between these strange theories of Bangtan Universe, a lot has remained unanswered over the years as they moved on from one era to the other, the latest featuring Jungian psychology and an inner cosmos of conflicts.
Before the release of their latest album ‘BE’ which will be more of a personal sort of album featuring the members in their most real selves, we are counting down our top five theories which have never been answered and given from the nature of the latest album, will likely remain so.
BTS’ ‘Wings’ era had the most complex storylines which started long before but culminated in the highest complexity when the BTS army discovered that Jin is a time traveler and he can visit multiple timelines within the Bangtan Universe. But even the most minute of his actions can have consequence which is called the ‘butterfly effect’ but more about that later. Even with seeing Jin visiting multiple universes and timelines, we never knew if he could ultimately change the member’s fate as we saw him locked in a room like other members in the ‘Fake Love’ video. However, earlier in “On Stage: Prologue” we saw V jumping in the water, and in ‘Euphoria’, Jin jumped in the water signifying that he could interchange his fate with V to save him. Can he or can he not save them all? Well, we don’t know if we will ever know.
Recently an army theorized, “I really see to it now, bts had wings album, and enhypen is really the connection. they connect everything. watch, in enhypen's first music video will be the answer to all unanswered theories from bts' era” referring to the Big Hit Entertainment’s latest boy group Enhypen who is debuting with ‘Dusk-Dawn’ mini album.

According to the Butterfly effect theory, even the slightest change in action in any universe can topple the fate of the members and cause another chaos. In the ‘Run’ music video, RM picked up a Butterfky card and V seem to have been mimicking a butterfly in the “On Stage: Prologue” video. After the ‘I Need U’ video released, all BTS members got their unique timeline and met with several dreadful endings where Jin tried to save them all by switching to multiple universes.
Jungkook switching with Jin
When Jin tried to save V by jumping in water in the ‘Euphoria’ video, he seems to have also interchanged his time-traveling ability with Jungkook who was seen running through different timelines in ‘Fake Love’. In the end, when he visits the waterfall and tried to clasp sand echoing V’s action from a scene before, it seems to imply an eerie ending while V stands in front of a glass written “save me”.
V being the mastermind
Ever since the release of 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' where V is shown as the fallen angel, BTS army believes that V can be the mastermind behind a lot of chaos in BTS. In ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’, V is shown hiding behind a veil as in hiding his true intentions. In ‘Singularity’, V’s story progresses as he is seen wearing a mask to be ‘loved’ by others.
Who is the mysterious figure?
In many BTS videos, a mysterious figure has appeared. BTS army theorized it can be one member but later it seems like, every member has a hooded self and they interchange their actions throughout the series. Jungkook tries to save Suga from the fire while in ‘Fire’, Suga meets a hooded figure on fire, seemingly taking in his fate to be devoured by it. In ‘Magic Shop’, BTS members met their masked and hooded self to exchange their fate or ask for something.
Will BTS continue the Bangtan Universe storyline? Only time can tell.
