Twitter's Spaces on Tuesday, March 9, saw International K-pop fans get into an argument with the BTS Army over who really paved the way to make K-pop mainstream in the US. The debate became overheated when many disagreed with how BTS was not the first K-pop act to gain international acclaim. Of course, a fan came to her favorite K-pop band's defense and explained that while there are acts that might have won international awards (three of them), "BTS got a 100".

This fan was educating fellow members in the Spaces chatroom about how the other fandoms are making people "feel like s**t". The fan also added how K-pop fans had no idea how the Army was also supportive of other fandoms. She goes on to add, "There is other armies who support other groups as well, but you all just feel vendettas and you all just want to make people feel like s**t. Instead, just because they are armies. But you all don't know how many armies would support you all's groups, if you all wasn't so 'Oh my gosh. Armies are so corny' trying to act like Regina George and stuff like."

This discussion resulted in many BTS fans coming forward to say how BTS might not be the first K-pop act to have gotten international awards but they definitely paved the way for other acts get more attention. BTS blew open the US mainstream by winning at multiple music awards including the Billboards, charting in the top internationally many times, and breaking multiple streaming records and the Army stressed on this part of the seven-member band's journey to support their claim that BTS did in fact pave the way.
