The Internet, as we all know, can be nasty, unforgiving, and rude on numerous occasions. Platforms like Twitter, which are extremely popular throughout the world, can be used for spreading both negative and positive messages. The BTS Army, for instance, has been accused of toxicity in the past but, in this particular incident, fans of the K-pop superstars used their voice for good when rapper, songwriter, record producer, and BTS member J-Hope was called "ugly" by trolls on Twitter.

Jumping into action at once, members of the BTS Army defended J-Hope. Soon, Twitter was flooded with positive messages for the 26-year-old star to counter the 'J-Hope is Ugly' search on Twitter. One fan, for instance, defended J-Hope and called out the trolls by saying, "Do you know this guy? This guy is a dancing machine, he can rap, sing and really lovable, optimistic, cute and hot and makes cute aegyo, so whose ugly? Maybe the one who hates him. Remember!!! Attention...Without J-Hope there is no BTS...Remember that hatersss!! We don't need haters #jhope" while another, expressing similar sentiments, wrote, "I don't know why y’all hating on J-Hope but J-Hope is not ugly. J-Hope is so adorable that he can make someone smile with just a smile in his face and make them happy. J-Hope is a person that deserves everything."

Sharing quotes about the issue of calling people ugly and judging them on their looks by members of BTS, a fan tweeted the following:

""No one is born ugly, we're just born in a judgemental society" - RM
"Your presence can give happiness. I hope you remember that." - Jin
"You were born to be real, not perfect” - Suga
“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.” - J-Hope""

Sharing similar sentiments, another BTS fan wrote, "I don't know why people hate J-Hope, telling he is ugly and such. But for me, J-Hope's beauty is ethereal, he has this look that makes everyone drool for. He is just perfect, more than a perfect! Oh...how I love this man #jhope"

Meanwhile, an angry BTS Army member tweeted, "Y'all be hating him for being "Ug*ly" b***ch! No one was born to be ug*ly. We just live in this judgemental society. And if there is someone who's ugly here it'll be you, your mindset are just damn ugly. Stop bringing ppl down. J-Hope is unique. J-Hope is cute. J-Hope is our sunshine." Expressing similar sentiments and listing J-Hope's qualities, a different fan tweeted, "J-Hope unbeatable. J-Hope ethereal. J-Hope handsome. J-Hope sunshine. Y'all aren't even near J-Hope's level..And y'all have the guts to call him ugly."

Fans also started tweeting positively about J-Hope to counter the trolling on Twitter and to remove the negative search results. A BTS fan-page, calling all Army members, tweeted, "Armyblinks lets clear the searches! J-Hope BTS. J-Hope pretty. J-Hope main dancer. J-Hope ego. J-Hope best boy, J-Hope funny. J-Hope talented. J-Hope sunshine. Please reply separately," while another account, with the same goal, said, "We still need to clear searches! Reply and manually search on Twitter. J-Hope hot. J-Hope happy. J-Hope hopeworld. J-Hope handsome. J-Hope humble."

Similarly, in a bid to clear searches, more fans tweeted similar messages. One wrote, "Let’s clear the searches for our hobi hobi. J-Hope is unbeatable. J-Hope is unbelievable. J-Hope is unreal," while another wrote, "Clear the searches!!! The word m*sk appears for all three nicknames please copy/paste/rt: Hobi pretty, Hobi talented. J-Hope main dancer. J-Hope best rapper. Hoseok best dancer. Hoseok dance prodigy. Hobi laugh. Hobi baby. J-Hope dance leader. J-Hope 103 komca credits. Hoseok debut."

Another fan, in the same vein, tweeted, "If u see this reply with: J-Hope dancer. J-Hope best boy. J-Hope cute. J-Hope sunshine. J-Hope beautiful separately to clear searches."

It's not a secret that members of BTS have been subjected to many racist, xenophobic, and downright vile attacks based on their identity. To attack musicians you don't like, for whatever reason, for their looks is always wrong and should be spoken out against whenever it happens.
