Brooke Shields reveals how she ran 'butt naked' from room after losing virginity to Dean Cain at 22
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Blue Lagoon’ star Brooke Shields recently shared the experience of her first night with ‘Superman’ Dean Cain when she was 22. The experience was ‘regretful’ at best ,as she ran "b**t naked" after the s**ual encounter.
In her Hulu documentary titled, “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields”, the star who has had the experience of being sexualized in the past reminisced about the night she spent with the ‘Ripley's Believe It or Not!’ host. The ‘Pretty Baby’ star also informed her listeners that she lost her virginity to Cain that night.

The ‘Endless Love’ star recalled that while Cain was “more comfortable” with “the sexual part” of their love, she wanted it to be more personal. “I wanted to jump into the personal relationship and the love and the commitment,” described the actress, who holds a bachelor's degree in Romance languages from Princeton University. She further added, “We had to teach each other about each other.”
However, the ‘Lipstick Jungle’ star has come a long way, as she now has “sort of a regret for lost exploration and opportunity to understand my personal sexuality,” as she feels she lost opportunities for self-exploration. She later adds, “I feel bad for that girl. She was old enough to own her own body for real. And … just I couldn’t get there at that moment.”
‘The most famous virgin in the world’
The star rose to fame only when she was 11 by playing the role of a prostitute in the 1978 drama ‘Pretty Baby’ and later appearing nude in ‘The Blue Lagoon’. In her 1985 memoir, ‘On Your Own’, the ‘Suddenly Susan’ star quipped that she was “the most famous virgin in the world”. In November 2022, however, she said, “it was, in hindsight, a bit of a mistake for me to be so open about my virginity because it never left me alone,” on her “Now What? With Brooke Shields” podcast. She further added, “To be in the line of fire at such a young age in that way, I gained a resilience, and it set me up to be ready for anything in this industry, which can be difficult,” she said.
Brooke Shields and Dean Cain's relationship
The Golden Globe nominee spoke about her relaionship with Cain, "We had a great relationship, broke up, got back together again after three years. And that should have been a delicious time for me of reveling in it and feeling proud and free because I was in love,” in a March issue of People. The couple met inside the premise of Princeton, where their love blossomed. She went to the university in 1983 and her famous memoir in which she revealed for the first time that she was a virgin came in 1985. Shields recalled further, "But it was as if I was just paralyzed from shame, thinking everybody was going to know, thinking of letting my fans down because I had professed one thing”.
Shields later married Andre Agassi in 1997 and after divorcing him in 1999, has been married to Chris Henchy since 2001. The couple also shares two daughters together, Rowan and Grier. The mother-of-two recalled spoke about Cain that, "He just was so loyal and loving and just so in love. And I did not make it easy." She also revealed that she had apologized to the ‘Hit the Floor’ alum "a few years back" for making the relationship difficult. She said, "I said, 'I'm sorry for you, and I'm really sorry for me.”
'We truly had a wonderful relationship'
"We are still great friends…I was in love with her certainly, we were in college, sweethearts," Cain shared in December, 2014. "There was nothing I did to her that I'm ashamed of in any shape or form. So I said [to her] write away and hopefully it will be cathartic for her and she can sort of deal with that huge portion of her life," said the star who respects his co-star and former girlfriend from college, as reported by E! News.
"It was a big thing in her life," he further added. "America's virgin, it's a big deal and she felt the weight of the world and everybody watching her and that was, I think placed from her mother, and I think was one of the things that was very tough for her," informed the star about the mother-daughter dynamic as Shields also revealed in her book 'There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me'.
However, the actor now has only good things to say about Shields, as he said, "We truly had a wonderful relationship, we were two young people and we cared for each other," before adding, "She is a wonderful person, girl, woman and mother everything now and wife, just going to put that out there."
'He would be terrible to be a girl’s first'
