Brooke Shields hits out at Barbara Walters for asking about body measurements in interview when she was 15!
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Brooke Shields has opened up about some of the most infamous interviews in her career spanning over four decades. While promoting her upcoming movie on 'The Drew Barrymore Show', 'Holiday Harmony' for HBO Max, the ‘Endless Love’ star talked in detail about the time she felt "used" by journalist Barbara Walters. The incident took place back in 1981 when she had just made it big with her breath-through role in ‘The Blue Lagoon’ and was interviewed by Walters.
Brooks felt uncomfortable at age 15, to be asked about her measurements, and then asked to stand while she compared her body parts with hers. “She asked me what my measurements were and asked me to stand up, and I stand up and she’s like comparing herself to this little girl, and I thought, 'This isn’t right. I don’t understand what this is,'" remembered Brooks. “But I just, I behaved and smiled and felt like so taken advantage of in so many ways,” she added.

She further told Barrymore, “But over the years, you know when you’ve been in the public eye and have been commented on all the time, everybody has an opinion, and you all get to say it, and now that’s where social media I think can be dangerous. Then you learn to say no this is my truth.”
Walters did not stop there, as the legendary broadcaster kept "probing" into her family life while Shields’ mother Teri, who was an alcoholic according to Brooks memoir, was present just right there the whole time, reported the Daily Mail.
Earlier on the show, Barrymore, recalled an interview with Walters too when she was pressed to answer about her substance abuse issues, bisexuality, and more. Barrymore said, “She would not relent.” Brooks was also asked whether she ever felt that she was missing out on her childhood, after starting her career at such an early age, she replied, “I’m still going through my childhood, so I can’t say I didn’t.”
Shields launched the SKIMS campaign this September, which features celebrities, such as Chelsea Handler, Juliette Lewis, Becky G, Cassie, and Indya Moore.
Walters had remained away from public life, and was last seen in 2016 while attending the New York premiere of Woody Allen's movie ‘Café Society’.
