On the show Shields said that she is now "pretty much" back to normal after fracturing her femur the previous year and having to relearn how to walk, Daily Mail reports. "I'm back to pretty much normal," she said on 'Good Morning America'. "My equilibrium is a little bit off but I had a lot of time to think when I was in the hospital and during my recovery and it just made me even more excited and I talked about it, and that's when I started my company, Beginning Is Now, because I had to learn to walk again, so it was a symbol, and so yeah, it's been good, it's been a lot of work, but you'd be so shocked as to how much your body wants to heal. And it really made me sort of understand what wellness means to me and my life, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally," she added.
Shields said she was able to treat the injury as an opportunity to have a fresh start. "Looking at it as, "This is a new chance for me to start again", you know? I'm not going to let it sort of stop me in my tracks. It took something physical like that to sort of connect me to sort of the emotional part of what I wanted to do next in my life," she said.
Shields is now anticipating celebrating the holidays with her family. "We go visit my stepmom and all my sisters in Florida. So that's fun, and Chris right now is smoking brisket, pork shoulder or doing something and we take it on the plane. He wraps it up and we put it through security, just this mound of meat. But, we just like being together, and it's real nice." She further added, "There's going to be like 18 of us. I have many half-sisters and we were trying to go be with you guys but we have to be with my family."
Shields will be starring in the newest HBO Max film 'Holiday Harmony' where she will be working with alpacas and playing a mechanic. "They asked me to do this movie and I love Christmas movies, they just make me happy or joyful, and Annelise Cepero, who's the lead of the movie, I play just a part in the movie, but they said you're gonna work with alpacas and you're gonna be a car mechanic, and I was like, 'Sign me up!'", she concluded.
