Brooke Shields, 57, takes icy plunge in one-piece bathing suit in annual 'Thankgiving tradition'
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Brooke Shields had a chilly Thanksgiving swim in a chic one-piece bathing suit on November 24. In a recent Instagram video, the 57-year-old actress put on a red swimsuit and entered a freezing pool of water.
As the star steps further into the frigid water, she gasps in surprise at how cold it is. When she reached the middle of the pool, she sat down to submerge her body upto her shoulders for a few seconds before leaving it. She had pulled her hair in a tight bun and accessorised with stylish sunglasses for her plunge. The actress captioned the clip, 'The #thanksgiving tradition continues...[turkey emoji][cold blue face emoji].'

Shields established this custom the previous year by uploading a video of herself entering the same tiny pool while wearing the same red bathing suit, as per Daily Mail. Shields posted the video just a few days after discussing how she felt "taken advantage of" in an interview with Barbara Walters when she was 15 years old.
The 57-year-old talked up about how uncomfortable she felt during the 1981 interview when Walters started asking her about her body measurements during a recent appearance on 'The Drew Barrymore Show.' Shields talked about the interview with Walters, which happened right after her infamous Calvin Klein commercial was released. She recalled how Walters "asked me what my measurements were and asked me to stand up, and I stand up, and she’s, like, comparing herself to this little girl, and I thought, 'This isn’t right. I don’t understand what this is.' But I just, I behaved and smiled and felt, like, so taken advantage of in so many ways."
"But over the years, you know when you’ve been in the public eye and have been commented on all the time, everybody has an opinion, and you all get to say it, and now that’s where social media I think can be dangerous. Then you learn to say no this is my truth," Shields added.
When questioning Shields, Walters also turned to Shields' mother, Teri, to find out how she felt about accusations that she had stolen Shields' childhood, something they both vehemently disputed at the time. Shields has since talked openly about her often tense bond with her late mother who passed away in 2012, whom she characterises in her biography as an alcoholic.
When her daughter was still a baby, Teri started pushing her as a child model and actress, and she even gave her permission to be used as a child prostitute in the 1978 movie 'Pretty Baby.' When Brooke was barely 10 years old, she also arranged for a photographer to take nude pictures of her, telling Bill Boggs that her daughter was "at an age where she couldn't talk back."
