'Britannia' Season 2 Episode 3 Preview: Amid dilemmas and choices, Aulus gets a new visitor
Spoilers for 'Britannia' Season 2 Episode 2
It is 43AD and the mysterious and tumultuous land of Britannia is no longer occupied by the many warring tribes as it once was. Ever since the Romans arrived, their foreign army brought along with them only chaos and destruction. And in Episode 2 of Season 2 of 'Britannia', this chaos threatens to worsen.
In the previous episode of the historical fantasy adventure series, we see the Droids rising up in revolt against the Romans, who had presumed that their way to domination over Britannia is clear. But the Droids are having trouble following one leader. We saw how there was uncertainty about Veran (Mackenzie Crook) leading them into a fight. Following the events of the episodes so far, the Droids have little trust to invest in him especially after it was revealed that The Dead Man had arisen.
According to the synopsis of the episode, "Veran gives Ania a terrible choice. Harka brings Phelan under his spell and the next stage of Cait and Divis's prophecy begins."
Ania (Liana Cornell) had been bringing up her child while in training with the druids. Taking it one day at a time, she is feeling at home. But the synopsis suggests that she is set to face an important dilemma. While not a lot is revealed, it can be assumed that it might have something to do with her infant son.
Following the duet between Veran and Rork (Jason Lines), more rebuttal against the former is inevitable. There is a growing faction among the Druids that has lost faith in Veran and do not want to take the path he sets on.
Another part of the synopsis of the episode suggests that "a mysterious traveler arrives at Aulus' castrum asking questions about Lucius, Aulus' previous praefectus. Rebellious Celts make a haphazard attack on the castrum, spooking the Roman soldiers. Harka (also played by Mackenzie Crook) brings Phelan (Julian Rhind-Tutt) under his spell and tasks him with tracking down three blond brothers." In the previous episode, we see Phelan go through a painful bout of beating and finally deciding to leave Bridget (Tamla Kari).
At the same time, the next stage of Cait and Divis's prophecy is set to begin in the upcoming episode.
'Britannia' airs on Epix on Sundays at 9/8c.
