‘NCIS’ 23 Episode 18 sees stars from ‘Supergirl’, ‘S.W.A.T.’ and more step in to help Kasie clear her name
'NCIS' Season 23 Episode 18 proved to be a starry affair as the NCIS team was seen racing against time to save the Forensic Specialist Kasie Hines. Titled 'Bad Impressions,' the episode continues the story from Episode 17, 'Reboot,' in which Kasie is framed for the death of one of the technicians after her forensic program, EDNA, is stolen during a system shutdown. In last week's episode, Special Agent Sam Hanna, played by LL Cool J, visited the NCIS team and assisted in the investigation. The rapper continues his guest-starring role in Episode 18 and teams up with other agents to clear Kasie's name. But he's not the only guest star gracing the screen.
Unbeknownst to her team, Kasie had been developing a software program that could identify distinct genetic markers from fingerprints and create a fingerprint-based profile to identify suspects even if they are not in the databases. As the agents work to solve the mystery, Kasie reaches out to her college girlfriend, Joanna, to help her recreate the formula from scratch. Joanna is played by actress Briana Venskus, who is best known for starring as Agent Piper on 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' for four seasons from 2016 to 2020. She had a guest role in 'Supergirl' as Agent Susan Vasquez, and was also seen in 'The Walking Dead' as Beatrice. Speaking about her character's possible future with Joanna, Diona Reasonover, who plays Kasie, told TVinsider, "Briana Venskus, who plays Joanna, is one of my favorite actresses. I would love to see both this new side of Kasie and also more of Briana because she’s such a baller."
Benito Martinez also appears as a guest star in the latest episode of 'NCIS.' He plays Detective Conklin, who leads the murder investigation that framed Kasie. His most prominent roles include playing Gabriel Reyes on '911: Lone Star' and Jorge Diaz Sr. in Prime Video's romantic comedy series, 'With Love.' He has also played significant roles in police procedural dramas, including 'The Shield,' 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,' 'S.W.A.T.,' and 'The Rookie.'
Additional returning guest stars from Episode 17 include Noah Bean as the DOD Chief David Barbardo. He is best remembered for his work in 'Ballard,' '12 Monkeys,' and 'The Endgame.' The 'Not Dead Yet' star Josh Banday reprises his role as the techie Harold Goodell, while the 'Goliath' star Geoffrey Arend is seen as the janitor Tommy Manning. Moreover, 'Blindspot' actor Sanjit De Silva, 'Fallout' star Judson Mills, 'American Horror Story' alum Yevgeniy Kartashov, and 'Chicago P.D.' actress Rachel Coopes also appear as guest stars in 'NCIS.'
