'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3 set photos hint at notorious villain's return but there's a twist
As production on 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3 is underway in the streets of New York City, fans are being treated to glimpses from the next season of the neo-noir action drama series. The spoilers so far have revealed Daredevil's brand-new costume, replete with the double D logo, Wilson Fisk's bearded look, and the inclusion of the Defenders in the show's next chapter. The latest leaks hint at the return of the notorious villain Muse from Season 1, who terrorized the city with his antics.

However, there's a twist. Muse was killed by Dr. Heather in the first season, and it seems like she will possibly take on his murderous persona in the next installment of 'Daredevil: Born Again.' The images show a woman dressed in a trench coat, ski cap, and a distinctive wig wearing Muse's bloody mask. The woman's identity is not a complete surprise, as Heather's arc in Season 2 has been building towards that very outcome.
Like all villains, Heather starts as a good person who encounters an unbelievable crisis that makes her question her life's choices. Heather, played by Margarita Levieva, appears as Matt's girlfriend in Season 1. Her life takes a turn for the worse after she starts treating a young man named Bastian Cooper, played by Hunter Doohan. During one of their sessions, Cooper reveals his murderous alter ego Muse, who has been killing victims and using their blood to paint anti-establishment murals across the city. Cooper becomes obsessed with Dr. Heather after she inadvertently helps him "discover his true self," and he kidnaps her to paint his final masterpiece mural.
Daredevil arrives in time to stop his nefarious plans, and the two get into a scuffle, during which Heather shoots Muse with his own gun. Although she survives the encounter, Heather develops severe PTSD and suffers an emotional breakdown. Her growing hatred of masked vigilantes forces her to break up with Matt and support his rival, Fisk, and his anti-vigilante platform. In the Season 1 finale, Fisk promotes her to become the city's Mental Health Commissioner. The second season sees Heather's mental state crumbling even further as she frequently experiences nightmares and hallucinations about Muse. She even holds on to the serial killer's mask, even though the sight of it leaves her disturbed. As Season 2 nears its end, Heather is seen descending further into darkness.
She manipulates Jack Duquesne (aka Swordsman) and Karen's assessment reports to declare them mentally unstable on Fisk's orders. The two are then tried in court for being vigilantes, which Fisk declared a crime under his rule. Furthermore, the Marvel Comics feature Heather's villainous turn, but not as a version of Muse. In the comics, an artist named Morgan Whittier becomes the female Muse. Watch all the episodes of 'Daredevil: Born Again' only on Disney+.
