Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton to work together towards launching rival show against ‘The Voice’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Reese Witherspoon has now reportedly planned to become queen of the music world as she is launching a singing competition to give a run for money to ‘The Voice’. It has been said that the ‘Big Little Lies’ star’s ambitious project – ‘My Kind of Country’ – will air on March 24 on Apple TV.
Witherspoon is reportedly confident about her new show and believes it will leave behind NBC’s singing reality competition. "The Voice has gotten great ratings over 22 seasons, but the one thing the show has not done is have a winner go on to have a big singing career. Reese is confident with her team, they're going to find a superstar — and her show is going to be must-watch TV!”, as per an insider who told RadarOnline. But the surprises are not ending here as Blake Shelton will reportedly be joining Witherspoon. The 46-year-old country music singer believes that Witherspoon’s project's a “big stinkin' hit,” and he'd be “happy to go on it to help her out!” as per the sources.

In search of another Kelly Clarkson
Witherspoon is believed to be searching for talent, like Kelly Clarkson. “Reese believes her show will find a Kelly-level star," the insider claimed. Not just that, but to compete with the TV ratings, the recipient of various accolades will also apparently turn up on the show featuring numerous Grammy Awards-winner, Kacey Musgraves, who is also producing the show.
Blake Shelton steps away from 'The Voice'
This decision comes after Shelton declared that he won’t be part of the upcoming seasons of ‘The Voice’ in October last year. In a social media post, he declared, “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season. This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. It's been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew, and catering people, you are the best.”
“It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages to pull off a live show twice a week. I’ve made lifelong bonds with Crason and every single one of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!”, he added at the time, while receiving words of applause from his spouse, who wrote, “I am so proud of you and so blessed to have found u. your talent brings joy to the hearts of so many people and i am so lucky to be part of ur life’s journey ❤️ gx.”
But a source had revealed that the creators of ‘The Voice’ were actually planning to get rid of the old judges as they shared, “Current top ten artists like Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, Billie Elish, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Weeknd, were all hesitant about starring on a competition show before Ariana Grande signed on,” as reported by RadarOnline.
“After a decade on the show, producers are quietly looking to replace Blake with someone younger and more current. Blake is great but he is not in Ariana’s league. It is time for a shake-up. The only way the show remains fresh is by constantly evolving”, added the source.
