Blackpink ‘The Album’: Release date, concept, tracklist and all the buzz around the band’s first full-length project

After teasing their fans for long, the all-girl South Korean group Blackpink has officially announced the date and the tracklist of their first full-length album titled ‘The Album.’ The official Instagram account of Blackpink shared the poster along with the tracklist of the new record.

The girls can be seen sharing warm side hugs in the poster exhibiting the bond, the love, the friendship and care they have for each other. The name of the album is right at the top in bold pink letters. The Instagram poster also spills the details on the release date and final songs that made the cut. YG Entertainment, the agency which manages the girl group, also tweeted the tracklist and said, #BLACKPINK ‘THE ALBUM’ TRACKLIST POSTER 1st FULL ALBUM ’THE ALBUM’ 2020.10.02 12am EST & 1pm KST”

Release date

As the official Instagram post reveals, ‘The Album’ will hit the Internet on October 2, 2020, via YG Entertainment and Interscope.

Concept

Talking about the process of their new album, Rose spilled the beans to Billboard in September. She said, “I think it's made us more focused into completing the album and making it the best thing we can give to our fans, and perfecting it and everything. And so, I feel like this album could get a lot of light and energy to everybody being stuck at home not knowing what to do hopefully this can cheer them up.”

Blackpink also shared a concept teaser video of their upcoming single ‘Lovesick Girls’ from their album on their official YouTube channel. Check out the video right here:



 

Tracklist


Blackpink’s ‘The Album’ will make their fans groove with eight beautiful numbers.  Singles namely ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Ice Cream’ featuring Selena Gomez were released earlier with an intention to promote the album. Talking about the tracklist, the following are the songs that made the cut:

Blackpink is one of the biggest K-pop girl groups to come out of K-town and they also enjoy a massive fan following across the globe. The official announcement of the band’s new record made fans jump out of their seats. A lot of them took to Twitter in order to express how elated they were.

One user said, “THE ALBUM isn't just an album, it’s a cultural reset, a reason to breathe, and an escape from this cruel world. It's an art, the first gift you open on Christmas, a hug from a loved one. It's everything you’ve ever wanted, everything you've ever need.” One fan tweeted, “BLACKPINK I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. Blackpink’s ‘The Album’ will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube. The popular band will also be live streaming an event 'Comeback Live' on VLive on October 1, 2020, just a day before their album hits the Internet.
