Will Blackpink perform at MAMA 2020? YG confirms line-up with Treasure, fans pray their 'sister group' is added

YG Entertainment’s K-pop boyband Treasure along with GOT7, MAMAMOO, MONSTA X and TXT have confirmed that they will be performing at the 2020 Mnet Music Awards (MAMA). But the only question on everyone's minds is: where is BLACKPINK?
This year, MAMA will take place on December 6 in South Korea with the new theme "Gate to NEW-TOPIA". The new line-up has added an extra level of excitement for the K-pop fandom as K-pop fans are getting almost all big groups to perform this year.
Earlier, BTS, TWICE, IZ*ONE, NCT and Seventeen had also announced their participation in MAMA 2020. However, a large part of the fandom is dominated by Blinks aka Blackpink fans who are asking, if YG entertainment’s boy group Treasure is performing, where is their sister group?
A fan stated, “treasure's performing but their sisters arent. wish bp could perform” Another fan said, "I haven’t seen black pink on MAMA stage since I entered kpop, that’s one group I really want to see on stage." A Blink posted, “LETS PRAY IF THERE IS TREASURE MAYBE BLACKPINK”

The feud between Mnet and YG goes way back and, as a result of which, Kpop fandom has been missing YG artistes performing at MAMA for the last few years. But a report from Korea Portal said that Mnet is in talks with the entertainment mogul to put an end to the conflict and TREASURE’s presence at MAMA 2020 is an olive branch, according to some fans.
Blackpink has been peaking in charts not only in Korea but also internationally since their debut. This year, in October, the group reached 65 to 1 in Billboard Artist 100 chart for the first time to become the top musical act in the US owing their success to the group's debut full-length ‘The Album’. The four-member K-pop band is also reportedly the third K-pop act to top the Artist 100, following BTS and SuperM.
Blackpink's third single ‘Lovesick Girls’ from ‘The Album’ also launched at No 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart. Their recent collaboration with Selena Gomez, ‘Ice Cream’ debuted at No 13 on Billboard Hot 100 while ‘Lovesick Girls’ launched at No 59.
With a world domination badge on their arms, fans believe Blackpink can be announced as the final line-up of the show as a fan wrote, “BLACKPINK is the main event so they will announce it on final line up. Treasure attends congrats..”
