BLACKPINK is set to appear on the South Korean award show QQ Music’s Boom Boom Awards 2020, instead of the Mnet Asia Music Awards, 2020. Hwasa of Mamamoo, Seventeen will perform at the show as well. Here’s everything you need to know about the award show.

The beef between YG Entertainment and MAMA is well-known, and while fans expected BLACKPINK to appear for MAMA stating that their brother group Treasure is appearing, it looks like this year too, MAMA will be missing the biggest K-pop girl group as they will be appearing for a different award show on Sunday, December 6.



 

Boom Boom Awards 2020, organized by QQ Music, will showcase BLACKPINK’s stage performance along with featuring the stunning queen Hwasa of the K-pop girl group Mamamoo. According to a Reddit thread, South Korean boy band Seventeen of Pledis Entertainment will also appear for the Chinese QQ Music award show.

Boom Boom Awards 2020 of QQ Music will be telecasted on Sunday, December 6, at 8.20 pm KST.

Performers

So far, BLACKPINK, Seventeen and Hwasa of Mamamoo have been confirmed to be performing for the Chinese music award show.

BLACKPINK fans are ecstatic at the group’s appearance as they believe it sends a strong statement to MAMA about the group’s stand on the issue.  A fan shared, “Blackpink said bye-bye to MAMA. just hope MAMA will give the awards to blackpink even though they won't attend.” Other fans have noted that they would love to have the group on MAMA instead.
