'Everything Means Nothing': Blackbear revives summer 2020 with new album, fans say 'the world is yours king'
Singer/songwriter and producer Blackbear's latest album, 'Everything Means Nothing', is now complete following the release of the remaining singles off the album, and with its blend of smooth R&B/hip-hop and pumping dance-pop, it's the perfect soundtrack to help revive your canceled Summer 2020.
Blackbear first hit the scene as a member of the garage band Polaroid in 2006 before eventually embarking on a solo career which saw him move to Atlanta to collaborate with Ne-Yo. He dropped his first EP, 'Brightness', in 2008 while still performing under his own name, Matthew Tyler Musto. But when 2011 rolled around, he adopted the stage name and pseudonym Blackbear along with releasing his 'Year of the Blackbear' EP and sealing himself as one of the top songwriters and producers in the industry who would go on to work with everyone from Linkin Park to Justin Bieber, in addition to Mike Posner with whom Blackbear formed the alternative hip-hop/R&B duo Mansionz.
As a soloist, Blackbear put out his debut EP 'Foreplay' in 2012 in addition to a debut mixtape titled 'Sex'. His follow up EP, 2014's 'The Afterglow', landed Blackbear on Billboard's Uncharted, establishing him as one of the top upcoming artistes. The year also saw Blackbear monetize streaming on his SoundCloud, making him one of the first independent artistes to do so and helping shift how music was shared and consumed worldwide. Following his five studio albums, as well as numerous EPs, mixtapes and collaborative projects, which included the track 'Worry About Me' off Ellie Goulding's newly released album 'Brightest Blue', Blackbear is now back with his latest offering: the album titled 'Everything Means Nothing' which features his 2019 single 'Hot Girl Bummer' and the 2020 singles 'Me & Ur Ghost' and 'Queen of Broken Hearts'.
The previously released singles were instant hits among fans. Blackbear later shared the full tracklist for the album via Twitter, which included the singles 'I Felt That', 'I Feel Bad', and 'I Feel 2 Much'. All three singles are now available to stream online, and they perfectly demonstrate just why Blackbear is one of the best at the game. Each track is rooted in a different genre while still holding a distinctly Blackbear sound. And fans, naturally, are over the moon and #streamblackbear was soon the top trending search.
"The best day of my life," shared one fan, while another demanded, "GO LISTEN TO EVERYTHING MEANS NOTHING OUT NOW." One more said, "I FEEL 2 MUCH. IM DEVASTED." Another added, "This is really what I needed tonight. Definitely on repeat #streamblackbear to get the best feeling of your life like I'm experiencing." Another fan said, "THE TRUTH IS THAT YOU SWITCHED UP @iamblackbear." One fan tweeted, "Words can't describe how much I'm proud of u, the world is yours king @iamblackbear."
