Benny The Butcher ‘Burden Of Proof’: Release date, concept, guest features, tracklist and all you need to know about rapper’s new album
New York-based rapper Benny The Butcher, who is a core member of the Griselda Records group and collective Black Soprano Family, has announced his brand new album titled ‘Burden Of Proof’. The acclaimed rapper took to his official Twitter account to share the big news with his fans. He paired the album announcement with the release of a new single called ‘Timeless’ featuring guest verses from hip-hop legends Lil Wayne and Big Sean.

Over the last three years, Benny’s run has been nothing short of historic. He dropped ‘Tana Talk 3’ in 2018, followed by the cult-favorite, ‘The Plugs I Met’ in June 2019. His crew signed a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc-Nation and Griselda’s Shady debut album ‘WWCD’ also got released in 2019.
Release date
‘Burden of Proof’ will drop on October 16 and is expected to be released via his home label Griselda Records.
Concept
While announcing the album, the rapper also shared the official artwork of the album where we can see a close-up shot of a huge diamond-studded chain. It says “BSF” referring to Black Soprano Family and just below BSF, we can also spot a round dial that reads “GRISELDA,” his home record label.
Speaking about the album, Benny asserted, “If you understand the meaning of ‘Burden Of Proof,’ it’s one trying to prove their assertion and that’s what I’m doing with this album. This is the validation of what I have been saying all this time about Griselda, BSF, Benny The Butcher, coming to fruition. The ‘Burden Of Proof’ always lies with me.”
While Griselda is known for marrying quality with an array of volume, Benny has adopted a different approach. With ‘Burden Of Proof’, he took his time and holed up in LA with Hit-Boy, one of the hottest producers of 2020, to craft a masterpiece. It’s still gritty and vintage but coupled with the melodic and anthemic production of Hit-Boy, Benny’s raps have never sounded more festival-ready.

‘Burden Of Proof’ has been mastered by Guru and will see a lot of heavy guest contributions from hip-hop stalwarts like Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, Queen Najia and Dom Kennedy. The new project has been executive-produced by Benny The Butcher, Hit-Boy and Westside Gunn.
Tracklist
Benny has not revealed the full tracklist of the album yet; however, he did gift his fans the first single titled ‘Timeless’ from the upcoming album. The song features Lil Wayne and Big Sean on the guest verses.
Speaking about the song, the rapper said, “It was dope working with Wayne and Big Sean. I have so much respect for their talents. I have respect for everything they are doing. Wayne is one of the goats. It’s a good thing to be on a track with those guys trading bars.”
