LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Balenciaga sparked some controversy after unveiling an advertisement with a child for a theme that was based on bondage. Since then, celebrities who are associated with the brand have faced a great deal of backlash. Balenciaga's creative director Demna Gvasalia, has since apologized for the controversial ad.

Bella Hadid, who had shared a series of snaps from the campaign with her 56.4 million Instagram followers, has since deleted the post. The 26-year-old supermodel deleted the post right after the fashion label apologized for their "bondage"-themed campaign that included a child. The upscale clothing brand released a statement on November 23 over the photo shoot that showed a young child holding a teddy bear dressed in BDSM gear. Balenciaga reportedly made it look as though the controversial campaign was the fault of Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti.

The statement read, "We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused. Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms. We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign."

"We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot. We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children safety and well-being," the statement concluded.

Hadid has only taken down the post she published since the company took down the bear advertisements; she hasn't yet made any additional statements in the media. One fan who praised Hadid for taking down the post tweeted, "Bella Hadid deleted her Balenciaga campaign on IG after enormous pushback. Turning tables. Our outrage matters. If the innocence of children isn't worth fighting for, nothing is."

On the other hand, this other person who thought Hadid ought to speak up wrote, "Interesting how Bella Hadid loves to play the activist but hasn't said a word about the Balenciaga incident. I'm sorry but what..??? Girl where are you, speak tf up." Even more people left comments on her most recent Instagram post. One person commented, "Speak on Balenci plz," and another person wrote, "Thank you for deleting that other post," appreciating the model for making the humble effort.
