Aaron Sorkin's 'Being the Ricardos' takes a documentary-like route with a behind-the-scenes approach that saw the actors and colleagues of 'I Love Lucy' stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz give interviews as much older people. The story follows the harrowing week in the life of Lucille as she tries to save her marriage while also facing the fact that her career as an actress could end in a few days' time. The Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem starrer had high hopes with audiences looking forward to the Academy Award-winning actors creating magic on screen. But alas that was not the case as viewers have been left dissapointed.
From the slow and sometimes confusing pace to Nicole Kidman's accent of Lucille fans are not happy with the movie. Many have been left confused with how the story unfolds complaining that the creators got the cast wrong as well. Fans have dubbed it merely 'watchable' and were left unimpressed. Here's what they had to say about the movie.
A fan commented, "Just watched #BeingTheRicardos It was TERRIBLE.". A viewer said, "I had my faith on this movie but it was bad #BeingTheRicardos". A tweet read,"#BeingTheRicardos is poorly paced and it’s structurally super bizzare. That said, this exploration and inside look in this couples life, played wonderfully by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem, is both entertaining and emotional. Plus, I’m a huge bitch for Aaron Sorkin’s dialogue.".
A fan also commented, "I made it 16 minutes into the I Love Lucy movie starring Nicole Kidman, and oh my God... it's fucking bad. Like, horrifically bad. Jesus. #BeingTheRicardos". Yet another tweet read, "watching this #BeingTheRicardos movie and what the fuck is going on". A viewer also said, "@PrimeVideo#BeingTheRicardos off just off… not hitting the marks and the lead casting is #wrong ..the supporting cast makes it watchable sort of #watchable #ilovelucy it isn’t….just a tv #movie that’s all style no substance."
