Fans blame Sam Levinson for 'sleeping on Barbie Ferreira’s talent' after actress quits ‘Euphoria’
Barbie Ferreira is saying goodbye to her 'Euphoria' character, Kat. The 25-year-old actress took to her Instagram story on August 24 to announce her departure from the HBO series ahead of its third season.
Ferreira wrote, "After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye." The actress, who wrote alongside "fan art" of the character made by her costar Hunter Schafer, who plays Jules Vaughn in the show, said, "I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez.”

Ferreira's announcement comes months after an interview with Insider in March of this year where she spoke about an alleged dispute with 'Euphoria' creator Sam Levinson during production of Season 2. Some viewers assumed Levinson may have intentionally cut Ferreira's screen time. But, Ferreira shut down those claims. She said, "What’s interesting about this season is there are so many more eyes on it that even the news cycle has been so interesting to see. I’ve seen so many different things and a lot of it is untrue and some of it’s kind of like mundane little things. But I really think that the fans are really passionate and I do appreciate that because 'Euphoria' has really impacted so many people."
However, fans blamed the creator after the news of Ferreira leaving the series got declared. One said, "Sam Levinson slept on Barbie Ferreira’s talent and he’ll 100% regret it when she becomes a huge star."
