‘That’s BS. If you're allergic to eggs don't order an omelette’: Balthazar slams James Corden’s apology
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: The 44-year-old comedian and host of 'The Late Late Show' James Corden, who was briefly banned from Balthazar restaurant after owner Keith McNally slammed Corden for alleged misconduct in his restaurant on October 9, said it was never his intention to upset staff at the restaurant but acknowledged he had been “ungracious” during the incident. However, his apology didn’t go down well with an the restaurant's staff who called him out by saying, "I’m sorry but that is bulls**t.”
As previously reported, on Monday’s episode, October 24, of his CBS show 'The Late Late Show,' Corden said, "Last week, there were stories about me being banned from a restaurant and at the time, I considered tweeting about it or Instagramming about it. But whenever these sorts of moments come my way, I like to adopt quite a British attitude of ‘Keep calm and carry on.' Things are going to get written about me. Never complain, never explain."

However, he did explain and said, "A couple of weeks ago I was in New York with some friends. And we went for breakfast at one of my absolute favorite restaurants, a place called Balthazar." He added that his wife received a dish that contained food she was allergic to, Corden recalled sending the dish back. "In the heat of the moment, I made a sarcastic rude comment about cooking it myself," he stated, adding the order repeatedly came back incorrect. "It is a comment I deeply regret. I understand the difficulties of being a server. I worked shifts at restaurants for years. I have such respect, and I value anyone that does such a job. And the team at that restaurant are so great. That's why I love it there," he said and mentioned that he thought the issue was resolved when the staff handed out champagne "as an apology".
According to the Daily Mail, the New York City eatery has only two omelets on the menu -- the $25 Omelette with Herbs and the $27 Egg-White Omelette. Both of them come with a side of home fries or salad. The servers explained that Corden was demanding something that was not offered on the menu, and was angry when it wasn't up to his standards. He wanted an omelet that had only egg yolks. Not the egg-white omelet, just egg yolks. "Why then would you even bother ordering an omelet if you're allergic to eggs?" the staff asked, who added by saying that the egg allergy was not the real reason for Corden's anger, and that he had mistreated them in the past too. One of the barmen, said, "We deal with that kind of behavior from people all the time. But he... he was very, very rude."
