What happened on Twitter?

According to Twitter, "Spaces is a new way to have live audio conversations on Twitter." It was during one such audio conversation that the whole brouhaha unfolded. A Twitter user @flrtyoons took to the social networking site to offer some context as to what had actually happened on the #B7SAreH Twitter space.

According to the tweet shared by them, "there was a space talking about feminism and misogyny. But then it turned to how BTS has male privileges. Then the speaker (Joy) started talking about...minors private parts and STDs. Then it got transphobic. The space is still going on." The tweet added, "Joy was mocking neopronouns and started blocking trans people who called her out. her friend mega (who is also known to be friends with racist and transphobic people) also is blocking people for speaking to them about it."

What did Joy allegedly say?

Another Twitter user with the username @togecntrl uploaded a 19-second file on the site that shows a user with the name Joy allegedly making transphobic comments. In this video, the user with the name Joy can be heard saying, "Also the things that affect BTS are rooted in the blackness of what they are representing. So, their music is black. So you need to come in (sic) to hear this. Their aesthetic is Korean Black."

In another tweet, user @koyita7 uploaded an audio version of presumably some time later. Listening to this audio, one can make out that the alleged user Joy might have been called out by others - as some people even gasp when they are defending themself.

In this 17-second-long audio, the user with the name Joy can be allegedly heard saying, "I'm not trying to say... what I have said might come across as wrong, but I'm not taking it back because i didn't say it in a transphobic way." At this point, one can hear another user gasp in shock at Joy's alleged statements. This is also addressed by her. "And y'all keep gasping and everything but i didn't say..." the user named Joy can be heard saying before the audio is cut off.
