MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: An Australian Open fan was called out for her "criminal" behavior after her unconventional eating methods went viral on social media. A short clip uploaded online from one of the weekend's tennis clashes caught a woman enjoying her hot dog in a bizarre way from high in the stands.

Firstly, the individual was accused of not having a trace of sauce anywhere on the mid-match snack. Secondly, she ripped off a bite-sized portion of the hot dog using her hands instead of biting into the dog and bun together. Netizens chimed in to discuss which infraction was worse than the other.

The candid clip was shared on Twitter by TV sports journalist Josh Garlepp and has garnered more than 54,000 views at the time of publication.

The tennis fan in question was roasted on social media, with many unable to digest what they had watched. "The horror! The horror!" one tweeted.

"The biggest crime here is that there is no sauce or mustard!!" another wrote. "Good lord, that is making me thirsty looking at it. Put some sauce or mustard on it, for the love of God," someone else offered. "It is a very wiggly technique," a comment read. "Exactly how I’d imagine a tennis fan would eat it," another quipped.

Some, however, defended the woman's actions. "This act precedes normal eating behavior and ensures a precise snag/bun ratio, especially on the first and arguably most important bite. Any other conclusion is an oversight," one insisted. "The lady eating the hot dog is possibly wearing lipstick and a nice outfit. Both of these are enemies of a hot dog with tommy sauce. I'd do the same if I wanted to stay neat and tidy. But given I never have been, not planning to start now! Lol!" another chimed in. "At $9.50 a mouthful, I'd be taking my time to get my money's worth as well!!!" someone else joked.

As reported by the New York Post, this is hardly the first time a fan's eating antics at a Grand Slam have made waves on the internet. Alexa Greenfield left fans bewildered with her unique methods at the US Open four years ago. She took the internet by storm after she was caught dipping chicken nuggets into a cup of soft drink while sitting with her nephews at Flushing Meadows.

The eye-popping act took place when Madison Keys scored a dominant 6-1 6-3 victory over Dominika Cibulkova at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Social media users did not hold back on their commentary as they blasted the woman. Greenfield later defended herself by insisting that the combo is rather delightful - while also revealing that she was hungover at the time.
