Fans of the Grammy-winning rapper are praising him after watching his acting skills in 'Popstar'

Drake is one of the hottest selling artists of all time and his songs always manage to make waves on the Internet. The latest being ‘Popstar’, which is produced by his friend, DJ Khaled. The song has got a tremendous response from fans all over the world. But this time there is a twist.

The fans of the Grammy-winning rapper are praising him after watching his acting skills in the song's music video. This led to his real name, Aubrey Graham, trending on Twitter. The official video of ‘Popstar’ shows Drake getting irritated with DJ Khaled’s numerous requests to shoot a video, which is not allowing him to record his album, ‘Certified Lover Boy’, in peace. The 33-year-old rapper complains to his friend sitting beside him and then the song cuts to Justin Bieber shooting for his music video.

For the uninitiated, Drake’s real name is Aubrey Graham and he has done his own share of acting before he went big with his rapping skills. The ‘God’s Plan’ hit-maker first tasted a little success on the small screen with the show, ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ in 2001 where he starred as Jimmy Brooks at the age of 14. Drake made his last appearance in the eighth season of the show in 2008. Apart from this, the Canadian rapper also did a few other stints on TV but nothing as famous as ‘Degrassi.’

Drake started making moves in hip-hop around 2008 after releasing a few mixtapes earlier. Interestingly, ‘Degrassi’ was also trending on Twitter along with Aubrey Graham. Fans stormed Twitter with hilarious reactions after getting surprised by Drake’s acting skills. One said, “Drake wants to be an actor so bad but I’m kinah with it he can defo act.”

One Drake fan said, “Aubrey Graham is the Actor, Drake one of his Character Roles.”

Another fan took to Twitter and posted, “I can’t believe I’m at the age where kids dont know that Drake was an actor before a rapper.”

Giving a funny reaction on the matter, one fan stated, “I tell people every chance I get that “Drake” is the greatest character that Aubrey Graham has ever played.  That man is an actor lol.”

One fan got nostalgic and shared, “I had to pullup with this iconic Aubrey Graham/ Jimmy moment, cus y’all trippin.”

The reactions on Twitter clearly show that a lot of Drake’s ardent fans did not know about his acting career. Speaking of his music career, Drizzy most recently celebrated one million streams of his song 'In my Feelings' on Spotify by eating off Spaghetti from the Spotify plaque.
