Pop star Halsey is said to be getting a biopic, in which she will most likely play herself. Sony Pictures has acquired her life rights and is said to be positioning Halsey as a movie star with a film about her origin story that’s being pitched as her own version of Eminem’s 8 Mile, minus a few elements like people shooting themselves in the leg. The biopic will recount her life growing up in a biracial society, her personal struggles, becoming an icon and the launch of her career.

The 23-year-old pop star recently gave an inspirational and powerful speech at the 2018 Women's march in New York City. The singer and songwriter, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane delivered "A Song Like Mine" as an alternative to the traditional speech at the rally.

"I don't really know how to do a speech unless it rhymes, so I'm gonna do a little poem for you guys," she said at the second annual Women's March on Jan. 20, which had participants walking down Central Park West and around Columbus Circle, before heading down Sixth Avenue to Bryant Park.

In her poem, she talks about how she was sexually assaulted, her accompanying her best friend to Planned Parenthood after her friend was raped, how her boyfriend used to force her to have sex, how she had to go through a miscarriage and how being in the public eye has not protected her or anyone else.

This poem gives us an idea of what is going to be in her biopic.

Back in March, Halsey tweeted that she’d be taking some time out from touring to film a movie for two months – which we think was related to the biopic. She is also pegged to be making a short appearance in the upcoming Bradley Cooper directed film A Star Is Born.
