Ariana Grande drops another track from 'Sweetener' called 'The Light is Coming' featuring Nicki Minaj
Ariana Grande's new collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj has finally been revealed. The upbeat track is called 'The Light is Coming,' is from her album 'Sweetener', which is set to come out on August 17 later this year. The album will be released by Republic Records.
Ariana Grande gave her fans a sneak peek of the song on her Instagram and from the sounds of it, it's a classic Grande sound - pop, snappy and totally dance-worthy. Ariana has also collaborated with Nicki on the rapper's upcoming track 'Bed', which is speculated to feature on Nicki's upcoming LP, Queen.
The track is produced by the talented Pharrell Williams. The song, available on Spotify, features some really cool drum beats and loops and a very enthusiastic Minaj spitting fire with her rhymes. Ariana's vocals in this track are nicely done, showcasing her ranges that go high and low and still come out quite strong. You can pre-order the album on the website.
'The Light Is Coming' is the second track that she has shared from the upcoming album. She recently shared the song 'No Tears Left to Cry' in April earlier this year. This album follows her last and second release called 'Dangerous Woman' which was pretty successful.
Her last album made her so successful that even without releasing a new album in 2017, Grande became Billboard's Female Artist of the Year. Grande's success isn't limited to music alone - she has released five fragrances with Luxe Brands since 2015, since the time she burst into the music scene with her album 'My Everything'. Nicki and Ariana have collaborated before on 'Dangerous Woman' in a track called 'Side to Side'.The song's music video is a swanky and sexy one that features the two riding a bicycle, has been viewed more than 1.3 billion times. The album and the title track of 'Dangerous Woman' were each nominated for 2017 Grammy Awards. As of June 2018, 'Dangerous Woman' has spent a total of 100 weeks on the Billboard 200. They have also collaborated on Jessie J's track 'Bang Bang in 2014. The track was a super successful collaboration. The duo first worked together in 2014 for Nicki's song 'Get On Your Knees,' off Minaj's 2014 album called 'Pinkprint'.
