As the show approaches an end, we see Stan Delaney (Sam Neill) is arrested on suspicion of Joy Delaney's (Annette Bening) murder, and even the children are convinced of their father's guilt.

During a visit to their parents' house, they reminisce about their mother through an album and come across an old photo featuring Harry Haddad (Giles Matthey), their mother, and a girl who resembles Savannah.

Seeking answers, they approach Harry with the photograph. He identifies the girl as his sister, Lindsey, revealing that he hasn't been in contact with her for three years due to a restraining order.

Savannah and Harry endured a tumultuous childhood due to their troubled parents. Harry describes their mother as "sick, delusional, and unstable."

Following their parents' divorce, Harry went to live with their father, while Lindsey remained with their mother.

Separated from her father and brother, Lindsey had to contend with their mother alone. Despite Harry's initial support, he eventually distanced himself due to these issues affecting his tennis career.

Nevertheless, Lindsey persistently sought Harry's attention and financial support, resorting to threats against his wife and child when her demands were unmet.

The situation escalated when Harry and his family found Lindsey with a gun at their home. This incident prompted Harry to obtain a restraining order against her.

Savannah holds Joy responsible for her hardships. She acknowledges that her childhood was challenging, but it took a turn for the worse after Joy contacted their father, asking him to fire Stan.

Savannah is convinced that this action prompted her father and Harry to leave their home.

She also feels jealous of Joy's seemingly perfect family, contrasting it with her own lack of such stability.

She faked her identity and entered their lives with the intent to destroy the happiness of their family.
