Angelina Jolie stunned fans when she was spotted leaving an Italian restaurant earlier this week following her dinner with The Weeknd

Angelina Jolie has had most of the internet on the edge of its seat after she was spotted with The Weeknd at Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. While users on social media were surprised with this development, there were those who had already started coming up with new portmanteaus for the new couple. And it looks like the actor is now introducing her children to the Grammy winner. If the latest reports are anything to go by, Jolie took her 17-year-old son Pax to meet The Weeknd on her recent family trip to New York. 

As per the latest report by The Sun, Pax accompanied his mother to meet The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye before their alleged date night, a source revealed to the publication. The 46-year-old actress stunned fans when she was spotted leaving the Italian restaurant earlier this week, following the dinner with the 31-year-old Canadian singer.

An insider revealed to the publication that Jolie and The Weeknd had previously caught up with each other as they secretly spent time together in New York last month, and also said that that is when he met Pax.

The source told the publication, "Angelina has been in contact with Abel for a while, he was in New York at the same time as her and the kids. They met up for lunch in private. She took Pax along because he's a big fan and they got along really well, he was obviously thrilled." The insider added that the nature of their relationship is purely friendly — for now. "They are just friends, but who knows it could be more in the future, he's made no secret of the fact he has a huge crush on her."

Safe to say, this has led to a great deal of furor among their collective fan bases. "Angelina Jolie and THE WEEKND?! Hold tf up I got a questions….." one user wrote. Another wrote along similar lines, "NOW THE WEEKND SND ANGELINA JOLIE??!? WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING".  Another user wrote, "The Weeknd & Angelina Jolie might be dating?! Wait let me process."

All in all, it seemed to be a happy update for fans. "So The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie might be dating and I CANT FEEL MY FACE," one fan wrote, a reference to the singer's 2015 song. Another wrote, "the weeknd and angelina.. honestly i’m here for it."

Jolie and The Weeknd were reportedly seen spending time together for hours at the Italian restaurant, which is a celebrity hotspot in Santa Monica. Jolie was dressed in a simple black dress, tan trench coat, nude pumps, and a black mask as she left the building. Tesfaye wore a more casual look opting for a black tee-shirt, matching denim pants and jacket, black combat boots and a silver beaded necklace. The two apparently also left separately to avoid raising suspicion.

The former super celebrity couple Brangelina share six children between them — 19-year-old Maddox, 17-year-old Pax, 16-year-old Zahara, 14-year-old Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12.
