'Protective' Angelina Jolie has one major condition before every one of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt's dates
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were once the power couple of Hollywood but now, they are co-parenting six growing children. All of their kids are in their teens or older. The pair’s eldest child is Maddox, who is 21, and their first biological child is their daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who is 16. Shiloh will turn 17 in 2023 on May 27.
As per reports, Jolie is quite a no-nonsense mother when it comes to Shiloh’s dating life. Things are not how they were when the teenager was younger and preferred to dress up as a boy. She even reportedly wanted her family to call her John or Peter. In 2008, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Pitt revealed, “She only wants to be called John. John or Peter.”

“So it’s a Peter Pan thing. So we’ve got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want …’ – ‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’ So, you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people,” the ‘Fight Club’ actor said during his interview.
Then two years later, in 2010, Jolie told E! Online, “Shiloh, we feel has Montenegro style. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So it's a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit. She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers.”
Also, once speaking with the Daily Mail UK, the ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ actress stated, “She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called John for a while. Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It’s who she is. It’s been a surprise to us and it’s really interesting, but she’s so much more than that – she’s funny and sweet and pretty. But she does love a tie…”
‘Angie’s very encouraging of that’
However, now it seems things have changed as reports have shared that Shiloh is now into boys and likes to wear feminine clothes now. During the ‘Eternals’ premiere in 2021, she was even seen donning a black-and-white Dior dress. Besides, a few months ago, she and her A-lister mother were spotted having a coffee with Paul Mescal after enjoying his play, ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’.

Some speculated that Jolie was interested in the 27-year-old Irish actor but later it was reported that the ‘Original Sin’ star wanted her daughter to meet Mescal. A source told US Magazine, “It wasn’t difficult for her to arrange the meeting. She had her people call his people and it was set up right away.” The insider noted that Shiloh’s “taking a big interest in arts and culture” and “Angie’s very encouraging of that.”
The source added, “She wants all the kids to explore their creative sides and hear from talented actors and actresses directly what it’s like to work in the biz, how they got their start and so on and so forth.”
But not just that, Jolie becomes more protective when her teenage girl is talking about boys. As per reports, if Shiloh is meeting any potential suitor, her famous mother apparently first “approves” the person. A tipster told Life & Style, “Shiloh is very outgoing. She’s definitely not a little kid anymore. It’s like she grew up overnight.”
