Shiloh Jolie-Pitt wanted her NAME CHANGED to 'John or Peter' when she was a toddler
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has been in the news lately, mostly because of her dancing skills and red carpet appearances. The curiosity to know more about the famous teeager, who is the daughter of A-listers Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is growing. Amidst all these, her fans have dug out an old interviews with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who spoke about a younger Shiloh when she was growing up.
It has been said that there was a time when the 16-year-old wanted her name to be changed to “John or Peter”. In the 2008 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt told the talk show host that Shiloh, who was a two-and-a-half-year old toddler, had very strong opinions on what she wanted to be called. He had said: “She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing. So we’ve got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want …’ – ‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’ So, you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people.”

At the time, Brad, who is the father of six children, had also revealed, “We don’t go to the mall. It’s like a half-an-hour just to get everyone buckled in and make sure they’ve got their snacks, and Z.Z. [Zahara, 3] has got a blanket and Shiloh’s got her silky. Angie‘s militant about it. She’s right on top of it. Thank God, because I’m always forgetting something.”
Shiloh not only had a preference for boy names like “John or Peter” — she also loved being styled in boys’ clothing. In 2010, Angelina addressed it in an interview with E! Online as she said, “Shiloh, we feel has Montenegro style. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So it's a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit. She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers.”
The ‘Maleficent’ had told DailyMail UK, “I don’t think it’s for the world to interpret anything. She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called John for a while. Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It’s who she is. It’s been a surprise to us and it’s really interesting, but she’s so much more than that – she’s funny and sweet and pretty. But she does love a tie…”
Angelina Jolie has also emphasized that the style and appearances of her children do not matter as she reportedly said that she trains them to “be their true selves and teaching them to be able to hold on to that… We are all born powerful… We just get a lot that breaks us down… I hope they are soft, I hope they are kind, and I hope they feel strong enough to protect that.”

It has also been reported that both the famous parents are very supportive to their children’s choices and are really proud of Shiloh’s pursuing dance. A source said, “Brad and Angie are both very proud. They’d have no issue if she wants to turn pro, but they’re not pushing it on her by any means.” Another source added that Angelina’s “amazed by how talented Shiloh is, but more than that she loves to see how happy Shiloh is when she’s dancing. A career in dance is something that she could pursue one day, but Angelina is not pushing her in that direction at all, she encourages her to do it simply because it makes her happy.”
