NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A statement by ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro, telling her co-hosts that being Hispanic or Black doesn’t make a person "immune" from supporting white supremacy, has not gone down well with netizens. One of many pointed out by saying, “There are good & evil people! The ability to do right & wrong is a choice! There is the truth & lies! The evil committed by humans has nothing to do with their Race. It is a choice! Those who blame evil on a race, and use evil acts to sow hate are the most evil of all (the View)!”

Navarro was discussing about 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia, who allegedly shot and killed eight people and injured seven others at Allen Premium Outlets Mall on May 6. Authorities were reportedly examining if Garcia, who worked as a private security guard from 2016 to 2020, was motivated by white supremacist rhetoric as he appeared to have posted neo-Nazi content on the social media site OK.ru, that also had a picture of a vest with patch that read, "RWDS," which is supposed to be an acronym for "Right Wing Death Squad."

What did Ana Navarro say?

Navarro said, "We all have to remember that the head of the Proud Boys. His name is Enrique Tarrio. The Proud Boys is a White Nationalist group. Look, being Hispanic or being Black does not, or being anything does not make you immune from being racist, from being radicalized, from being a white supremacist, from being evil, from being homicidal. And we are seeing it over and over again. There are people who, they don’t see themselves as what they are."

'It is a justice issue'

Netizens swiftly slammed Navarro on social media with one saying, "Has nothing to do with the color of your skin! It is being intelligent enough to know the difference between right and wrong! The last time I checked this is not a racial issue! It is a justice issue! Do the crime..pay the time!" Another wrote, "Can we cancel this show finally, I remember when it actually was a good show. Now it’s just one sided complaining all day and grandstanding." Another asked, "Honesty, do they just wake up every morning and just make stuff up to fit their narrative?" While another individual wrote, "Continuing to redefine to the level of sheer ridiculous."
