Who is Amy Grant?
Grant began her career as a contemporary Christian music artist before crossing over to pop in the 80s and 90s. She has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and won six Grammy awards during her illustrious career.
Grant has also authored several books, including a memoir titled 'Mosaic: Pieces of My Life So Far' and another publication based on a Christmas song that she co-wrote called 'Breath of Heaven (Mary's song)'.
Amy Grant and Vince Gill's relationship
When he was the king of country music in the 1990s, Gill collaborated with Grant for a duet for her 1994 album titled 'House of Love'. "I think that a part of me loved him instantly," Grant had said in an interview with ABC News.
While the couple had met before, they barely knew each other. "I was so moved by him as a human being that I went up behind him and just hugged him as hard as I could while he was singing. I just said, 'I just needed to hug you all night,'" said Grant.
The feeling was mutual. The pair appeared together soon at one of Gill's Christmas concerts. "I started dancing with her, and those pretty big eyes. I started to sing and the words were just nowhere to be found. And the people were laughing at me," Gill said.
However, the two only got married about ten years later in 2000 after ending their existing marriages at the time. Grant and Gill have one daughter together named Corrina Grant Gill, who was born in 2001.
