'American Song Contest': Who is NËITHER? Meet the musician who has worked with Childish Gambino
If you've been looking for the next big music talent or hoping to see some old favorites take on the stage, then 'American Song Contest' is where it is at. With artists representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories, and our nation's capital, they're all set to wow the audience in the hope of finding the country's best song. The show celebrates America's vast musical landscape, and so far, fans have witnessed some stellar performances.
During week 1, Hueston from Rhode Island made it to the semi-finals by performing his song, 'Held On Too Long'. Week 2 saw Jordan Smith from Kentucky advance forward with his song, 'Sparrow'. And, week 3 had Tennessee's Tyler Braden make the cut with his song, 'Seventeen'.

Representing Washington, D.C. is NËITHER, who currently resides in the country's capital and also calls it home. NËITHER is a visual artist and a musician and his work combines R&B, hip hop, soul, and reggae. He is also the co-founder of Hyper Creative Consulting, which is a "Targeted content development, marketing, & strategy for creative entrepreneurs, brands, and businesses rooted in black Millennial & Gen-Z culture."
As per his NBC bio — "NËITHER is a multi-disciplinary creative who has written songs alongside legends George Clinton ("Parliament") and Ty$, developed original content for Lena Waithe's Hillman Grad Productions ("The Chi," "Queen + Slim"), sung background for Childish Gambino and acted in shows produced by Broadway heavyweights Charles Randolph Wright, Kenny Leon and Oprah Winfrey. This magic and mystery is what has colored him in such a dynamic way, with his music leaning into an eclectic sonic blend of R&B, hip-hop, pop and even classical elements. NËITHER wants to contribute to the new voice and history of the D.C. area and redefine what it means to be an artist from there."
