Tyler Braden from Tennessee took the stage by storm on Week 3 of the 'American Song Contest'. His 'Seventeen' was a soulful country track that had the audience grooving and moving. The end result: He was topping the live jury ratings. That said, the responses to his performances ranged from excellent to mixed.

'American Song Contest' features musicians from every state in the US pitting them against each other with one of the contestants making the semifinals by the end of the episode. This week's contestants include — Jewel (Alaska)
Riker Lynch (Colorado), Nitro Nitra (Delaware), Ale Zabala (Florida), Brittany Pfantz (Louisiana), Brooke Alexx (New Jersey), Sabyu (Northern Mariana Islands), Jesse LeProtti (South Carolina), Judd Hoos (South Dakota), and Grant Knoche (Texas)

Fans felt this would definitely trump Monatan's Jonah Prill. "I’m a proud Texan, but that song just isn’t my thing. Tyler Braden from Tennessee on the other hand, that man should be a bigger deal. Great song, and what a voice too! #americansongcontest," one of the fans remarked. "Tyler Braden took me back to when I was Seventeen & went on a field trip to Nashville, Tennessee which was one of the best field trips ever! Giving me Chris Stapleton vibes & I really like his vocal range! #AmericanSongContest," another tweet read.

Some segments were pretty mixed with their ratings. "#AmericanSongContest Song 3 - Show 3 Tennessee — Tyler Braden — “Seventeen” The song was OK but the live act look like it belong on the tonight show on NBC My score - 5," a fan rated the act. "Tennessee is the Sweden of The US. Like half of tonight's acts live and/or work in Nashville. He's advancing. If Montana can advance, Tyler should have NO problem. #AmericanSongContest," a fan opined. Despite topping the live jury votes, some weren't impressed.

"3. Tennessee - Tyler Braden: “Seventeen” It’s a nice country song, but really nothing special. Especially when we already have a killer country song like North Dakota in the Semi Finals. #AmericanSongContest,"a tweet read. "#AmericanSongContest Theres nothing quite like a countryman singing!!!! Tyler...lordy lorddd! that voice!!! Not even from Tennesse but hell if ya dont get my vote!: one of the comments read.
