LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Julia Gagnon took the stage with a cover of The B-52's hit song "Roam," originally performed by Adele, for her latest performance on 'American Idol' Season 22. While the judges praised Julia's performance, fans expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of her rendition.

Despite the judges' admiration for her confidence and stage presence, some viewers felt that her song choice was uninspired and repetitive.

They believed that Julia's performance lacked the excitement and energy expected from a top 7 contender. Additionally, some fans found her delivery to be dull and unengaging, which diminished their overall enjoyment of her performance.

"Julia Gagnon #AmericanIdol not my favorite tonight…why don’t the judges tell the truth!!?," wrote a fan. "Julia Gagnon sucks imma be honest," added another. One fan wrote, "I found that B-52s song boring from Julia." "Julia is boring," noted another fan. "Bad song choice for Julia. These are the rounds that contestants need to be stepping it up and that performance just wasn't it," said one. 

Unfortunately, after a long journey, Julia Gagnon was eliminated ahead of the top 5 race from 'American Idol' Season 22.

Lionel says Julia Gagnon has 'two lungs'

The judges had mixed reactions to Julia's performance. Lionel appreciated her vocal talent and remarked, "That's one way to show off an extra pair of lungs," highlighting her strong vocals. Katy also praised Julia's song choice and vocal abilities but expressed a desire to see more dance moves from her.

Luke commended Julia for challenging her confidence level, finding it "refreshing" to see her push herself out of her comfort zone. Overall, while they acknowledged Julia's strengths, they also offered constructive feedback to help her improve her performance in the future.

Katy Perry appreciates Julia Gagnon's 'confidence' 

Katy Perry commended Julia for her newfound confidence, highlighting the significance of confidence as a deliberate choice. She praised Julia for fully embracing that confidence during her performance, stating, "Confidence is a mental decision, and tonight, Julia decided to switch it on."

Luke Bryan also likened Julia's transformation during her performance to a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, emphasizing the remarkable change he witnessed. He appreciated how Julia showcased her newfound confidence on stage, describing her transformation as beautiful and impactful.

Meanwhile, Lionel Richie emphasized the importance of commanding respect, noting that Julia achieved just that with her stage presence. He praised her for taking control of the stage and exuding confidence throughout her performance, stating, "If you want respect, you have to command, and you commanded that stage."
