'American Idol' Season 18 premiered recently on ABC, and to date, we have seen a whole bunch of hopefuls who auditioned for a chance to get a Golden Ticket. Back again on Sunday night, the series returned for Episode 3, and amongst the contestants who left a lasting impression on the judges was Lauren Mascitti from Nashville.

Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan returned to their judging panel alongside Bobby Bones the in-house mentor. Ryan Seacrest returned as the series' host. Auditioning for a chance to get a Golden Ticket was Lauren Mascitti who brought her fiance, Shawn Camp.

Shawn who is a guitar player has written songs for famed artists, so much so, Luke Bryan knows him. Lauren performs an original song she wrote alongside her friend, titled 'If I Can Lose You'. Blowing the roof off with her voice, Lauren is clearly a pro and Katy loves the feeling and emotion in her voice. Lionel raves about her, "silky quality of a storyteller", and Luke compares her to Season 17 contestant Laci Kaye Booth.

Taking to Twitter after Lauren's performance, fans affirm they are in love with her voice. "Loving her!!! Reminds me of Linda Ronstadt xoxo," a fan wrote. Adding to that another said, "Oh my goodness I just fell in love with her voice and the song was awesome."

"Incredible performance, she reminds me of Linda Ronstadt," a fan wrote while another added, "Lauren Mascitti, now that is a beautiful voice with a sweet tone. #AmericanIdol."

So who is Lauren? the country singer that both judges and fans love?

Lauren is a country singer who is originally from Louisville, Ohio but moved to Nashville in 2014. After being adopted and raised by her grandparents, Lauren was influenced by her grandmother and grandfather who loved old-school soul, gospel music and outlaw country.

Even before she could turn 12, Lauren had released four albums. And she has released nine more albums ever since. Her recent albums are 'Thought I’d Get a Love Song', 'A Gypsy Point of View', 'Never Just a Song' and 'God Made a Woman'.

Lauren, who graduated from a nursing school, started off by working as a registered nurse by day and musician by night according to the Canton Repository. She undoubtedly received three yeses and is now advancing to Hollywood. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for Lauren.

'American Idol' Season 18 airs every Sunday night only on ABC. Check your local listings for more information.
