Amber Heard's 'swollen lip' pictures under scrutiny as bizarre HERPES theory gains traction

It seems Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s saga has made everyone 'experts' of something or the other. The two actors are currently in a legal face off at a Virgnian court. At the center of the court drama is a 2018 op-ed written by the 36-year-old actress in which she called herself a domestic violence survivor.

While she did not name Depp in her essay, her legal team accused her of blaming the 58-year-old for all her alleged anguish and sued her for $50 million. Heard did not back down and she countersued her former husband for $100 million. Now, the ex-couple is leaving no stone unturned to prove themselves innocent and the other one as the abuser in their past relationship.

Since the defamation trial is a televised one, Heard and Depp fans across the world are equally invested in it and scrutinizing each and every detail minutely. Social media sites have become their judgment platform, where netizens keep issuing their own verdicts. One of the latest points of discussion among the people lately is Heard’s lips. The ‘Aquaman’ actress has accused Depp of physcially and sexually assualting her. In the current trial, she alleged that she suffered numerous violent attacks at the hands of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor, which left her with a bruised face and swollen lip.

Though there is a group of people who support Heard in her accusations, there are many who think she is lying. One such supporter of the actress shared a collage of her pictures on Twitter while suggesting that she indeed was a victim while being with Depp. The supporter wrote, “Here we witness 2 things clearly • #AmberHeard swollen lip even after makeup. • Her dedication towards her work even after got physically assaulted by her ex-husband (J0nny Deep) #IStandWithAmberHeard.”

However, soon fans of the ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ star brought a bizarre 'herpes theory' to dismiss the domestic violence allegations. A fan of Depp wrote, “This is also a symptom of herpes 🤷🏻‍♀️ most people have it and lip picking does provoke it to flare up. Amber Heard often has marks and inflammation on her lips, before JD & after him. What a world we live in where we start to pass inflammation from picking / a virus as abuse 🤦🏻‍♀️.” But Heard's supporter fired back, saying, “I think u have herpes virus in ur brain... Go consult to doctor.”

Then Depp's fan went into detail to prove the 'Heard has herpes' theory. They said, “It does appear to be tissue damage caused by trauma. Trauma happens with herpes as the outbreaks tend to happen in the same spot(s). Also a lip picker like Amber would probably keep touching her lips in case of an outbreak since the itchy / burning feeling is hard to ignore.” The same person, who goes by username @lena_neige, shared a series of tweets with Heard’s pictures over the years that stated: “Here she is in 2009 at the “Whip it” Premiere. Shocking I know, the lip is swollen in the same spot. Amber Heard at the 2008 Opening of the D&G Flagship Store, again swollen lower lip in the exact same spot.”

“Here is Amber Heard in 2010 at the Mercedes-Benz fashion week. You can look this up on google you don’t have to take my word for it. Swollen lower lip in the exact same spot. Amber Heard in 2018 at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Grants Banquet. Could it be that she has the same swollen spot as usual? Hmm 🤔 I wonder?” the user added.

When someone praised @lena_neige for sharing their analysis with the photos of Heard, they replied: “Thank you 💜 Just trying to make people see what’s in front of them. I can’t believe they’re trying to pin this on Johnny when it’s been there the whole time!”

However, not just @lena_neige, Twitter was filled with similar takes on Heard’s swollen lip. A hater of the actress tweeted: “Could  #AmberHeard suffer from HSV, herpes simplex virus (cold sores). She has an awful lot of lip problems.” The second one said, “The fact Amber Heard says her busted lips are from Johnny Depp but everyone agrees it looks like herpes is just insaneeeeee to me!! You can tell it’s herpes, it looks disgusting.” “Amber Heard in a commercial for…L’Oreal possibly?…with her bleeding, cracked, chapped lips. We even have proof in court that she can’t stop habitually picking her lips. A woman should not be able to use her chronic chapped-lip picking as “proof” that her husband beat her,” the third one added.
