'How desperate': Amber Heard accused of STAGING grocery shopping photo at Citarella in the Hamptons

While last week, Amber Heard was spotted shopping at the TJ Maxx in Bridgehampton, New York, she was recently spotted shopping at Southampton's upscale grocery store, Citarella. The 36-year-old actress reportedly conversed with the fishmonger while picking out salmon, but "wasn't talking with anyone."

"She was very unassuming. She was very Hamptons casual. No makeup. Everyone left her alone," a fellow shopper told Page Six. Heard, who lost the high-profile defamation case against Johnny Depp, is said to have picked up cheerios, diet coke, and cauliflower during her shopping spree. According to the image obtained by the portal, Heard's cart also included Tate's cookies, a red pepper, and lettuce.

Apart from the grocery shopping and her outing to TJ Maxx, Heard was spotted dining at Greek restaurant Calissa in Water Mill, New York with her sister, Whitney Heard, and Whitney's two children. Heard is said to be living "low-key" because of her alleged financial situation, but the actress reportedly stayed in a 13,000-square-foot mansion during the trial. Rented at $22,500 per month, the mansion consists of a tennis court, a fitness room, a spa, and a home theater.

The actress owes Depp $8.4 million in damages after the jury found her statements against him to be defamatory. Sources told The New York Post that Heard is allegedly "broke" due to hefty legal fees associated with the trial. Meanwhile, netizens were having none of that as they slammed her for staging yet another photo opportunity. One user said, "She called paparazzi, that's how desperate and pathetic she is [laughing face emoji]."

Another said, "At the Hamptons, but can't afford the judgement against her?" A third wrote, "Damn... She goin hard with these staged photos. Like, 'Look at me. I'm doing my own shopping, so I'm too broke to pay JD for all the [poop emoji] I pulled on him. Have pity on me, a single mom with a baby.' [laughing face emoji]." A fourth added, "She even grocery shops like a crazy woman. Look at the chaos in that cart [laughing face emoji]."

While one user commented sarcastically, "Oh wow, she must not be able to afford her slave labor now that she has to pay Johnny," another joked, "This is news? Let me know when she is spotted at a Mattress Factory. That could get messy." A third said, "She had her SISTER take this photo! They did that at clothing discount chain." A fourth quipped, "No toilet paper, I'm not surprised."

A fifth said, "That's the only press she can get," while a sixth replied, "Ok are we supposed to feel bad that she's shopping instead of having people to do that for her?" A seventh added, "You know that this a part of her game, to get seen as a commoner." Meanwhile, Depp has been on tour with musician Jeff Beck and recently announced a tour with his rock band 'The Hollywood Vampires' which includes Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
