Meanwhile, Heard's lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, told NBC Today that the actress would not be able to pay the damages to Depp.

Depp, on the other hand, was staying at the five-star hotel Ritz-Carlton, which is 15-minutes away from the Fairfax County Courthouse. The McLean, Virginia hotel is connected to a high-end shopping mall and a fine-dining steakhouse called 'The Palm' about 100 yards from the hotel entrance. Depp is reported to have dined at the eatery and splurged on fine wines and the $37 chicken Parmigiana entrée, according to Fox News.

One user tweeted, "Amber Heard rented a $22k/month luxury pad during the Virginia trial with her own security detail. Where is she getting the money from?" Another wrote, "Amber Heard says she can't pay Johnny Depp his money but she rented a MANSION with a tennis court during the trial." A third noted, "Wow, her attorneys fees were paid by her homeowner's insurance policy. So her reason for not paying the charities was debunked, Now this?"

A fourth replied, "But her lawyer is claiming she cannot pay the court-ordered damages to JD.. but she continues to live a life of privilege and wealth [shrugging woman emoji]." A fifth mused, "So according to Fox business her net income is 40k & according to her bff TMZ, she rented a mansion for 22k? & according to Elaine she can't afford to pay JD or able to donate the money she bragged about donating? Hmmm."

While one user wrote, "Amber Heard stayed at a massive house while in Virginia for her trial, and while her lawyer claims she can't pay for damages, the rental home cost a pretty penny," another added, "It should read, 'Amber Heard and her ego rented out an estate....' She's so full of herself I can't stand it!"
