Amanda Seyfried did uncomfortable NUDE SCENES at age 19 as she wanted to 'keep her job'
Amidst the debate among celebrities on the necessity of having intimacy coordinators on set, Amanda Seyfried's recent remarks highlight their importance. The Emmy-nominated actor recalled her early years in the film industry, especially the uneasiness she felt while "walking around without [her] underwear" as a 19-year-old.
'The Dropout' star also reflected on how she nevertheless went along with those uncomfortable scenes as she did not want to upset anybody. Speaking in an interview with Porter, she said, "I was 19 and I didn’t want to upset anybody, and I wanted to keep my job. That’s why."
Gaining popularity with 'Mean Girls', Seyfried had earlier opened up about feeling disgusted and creeped out by guys asking her for a weather forecast. For those who did not understand the context, Seyfried's character in the movie could seemingly predict rain using her breasts. The actor was 18 at the time.

'Game of Thrones' actor Sean Bean's has spoken against such coordinators, saying they take away from the "spontaneity" of the scene. Post these comments, the veteran actor is facing backlash online. Taking to Twitter, 'West Side Story' actor Rachel Zegler highlighted the importance of intimacy coordinators. She wrote, "Intimacy coordinators establish an environment of safety for actors. i was extremely grateful for the one we had on WSS— they showed grace to a newcomer like myself + educated those around me who’ve had years of experience. spontaneity in intimate scenes can be unsafe. wake up." She then responded to a user, reiterating that the presence of ICs should not be conditional. Notably, Zegler was only 17 when she starred opposite Ansel Elgort in the musical romantic drama.
