At the 2020 American Music Awards, Taylor Swift won big. Winning the Artist of the Year over Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Roddy Ricch, and The Weeknd, Swift bagged her third consecutive win in the category after 2018 and 2019. She has also earlier won the Artist of the Year at the AMAs in 2011 and 2009.

One Swift fan account tweeted, "Taylor Swift has just won Artist of the Year at the 2020 #AMAs — congratulations Taylor Swift! Taylor has extended her record as the most awarded artist of all time in this category with SIX wins (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018, 2019 & 2020)"

As the tweet above states, Swift has become the most awarded performer in the Artist of the Year category in AMA history. She accepted the award from her home in a recorded video in which she thanked all her fans for loving her latest record 'Folklore'. Swift also won the Favorite Music Video category for 'Cardigan' beating Doja Cat's 'Say So', Future and Drake's 'Life Is Good', Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's 'Rain on Me', and The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights'.

A Swift fan account, announcing her Favorite Music Video victory, tweeted, "Cardigan by Taylor Swift has won the award for Favorite Music Video at the #AMAs." Her third win of the night came when she won the Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock over Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga.

Swift's 'Folklore' debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart making it her seventh consecutive #1 album. It immediately became the best-selling album of 2020 and spent eight weeks atop the chart making it the longest-running #1 album of 2017 to 2020. All its 16 tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously with three in the top-10.

'Cardigan', the lead single, debuted at the top spot and gave Swift her sixth #1 single making her the first act in history to debut atop both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously. 'The 1' arrived at #4 and the Bon Iver duet 'Exile' at #6. 'Folklore' has been produced by Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff and has been described as an indie-folk and electro-folk album.
