AMAs 2020: Lady Gaga bags Favorite Artist in Electronic Dance Music, fans call historic win a ‘slap for men’
The most awaited and biggest fan-voted music awards in the world — the American Music Awards are back. Lady Gaga won the award for Favorite Artist in Electronic Dance Music. The nominees for this category had sensations like Kygo, Lady Gaga and Marshmello who raised the bar of the competition for the title. In the latest version of the award, the ‘Born this Way’ singer became the first woman in history to be nominated in this category and now fans are saying that she “ended men”. This is because the Electronic Dance Music category has always honored men until Gaga’s historic win.

The awards were held amid Covid-19 induced restrictions due to which there were very few members in the audience. The crew members at the awards had worn masks and followed the Covid-19 protocol. Coming to the performances, the dancers are required to wear facial masks on during the acts while the lead artists had PPE on when not on the stage.
