The 2020 American Music Awards just wrapped up announcing winners across categories. The Favorite Male Artist – Country category has been won by Kane Brown. He beat Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen to win the award. This was Kane's third consecutive win in the category as he won in 2018 and 2019 as well.

Announcing Kane's victory, a fan account tweeted, "The #KBFamily is unmatched with their dedication and support! All of you voted NONSTOP! Congratulations to Kane Brown for winning Favorite Male Artist – Country at the #AMAs for the third consecutive year!" Kane himself reacted to his victory writing, "Thank you fans for all the votes! Y'all got me here and y'all keep me here! Thanks for everything you do for me and my family we love you guys. @AMAs."

Reacting to the news, one disappointed viewer wrote, "What happened to REAL County?" followed by the hashtag #sad while another, congratulating Kane, said, "many congratulations, you deserve it, you are the best, a great versatile artist and the best in the country genre Kane Brown." Another fan of Kane praised him, saying: "Feels amazing we got Kane Brown the win again for a third straight year. He deserves every nomination he gets for being the amazing singer, man, father, and husband he is. And for making amazing music and videos. Kane Brown makes all of us."

Kane gained public attention after releasing his first EP 'Closer' in June 2015. After signing with RCA Nashville, he dropped the EP 'Chapter 1' in 2016 before releasing his first full-length album 'Kane Brown'. Soon, Kane became the first artist to have simultaneous #1s on all five main Billboard country charts. His second album titled 'Experiment' became his first #1 on the Billboard 200.

In 2020, Kane released 'Mixtape, Vol 1' which peaked at #15 on the Billboard 200. He dropped the singles 'Cool Again', 'Worldwide Beautiful', 'Be Like That' featuring Swae Lee and Khalid, and 'Worship You' from 'Mixtape, Vol 1'. In October 2020, 'Worship You' was sent to country radio as his second official single to that format off the EP.
