The event, held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, was hosted by Taraji P Henson with presenters, including Anthony Anderson, Cara Delevigne, Ciara, Laverne Cox and Tayshia Adams among others. While The Weeknd and Roddy Rich led with eight nominations each, Meghan Thee Stallion was next with five. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, DaBaby, Bad Bunny and Doja Cat were tied with four nominations each.

What supplemented the starry night with more excitement was some of the most spectacular performances by our favorite artistes from different parts of the world. While Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat performed 'Baby, I'm Jealous', and Billie Eilish 'Therefore I Am', BBTS performed 'Dynamite' and 'Life Goes On' from London.

However, due to the Covid-19 induced restrictions, the event had very few members in the audience and the crew members are required to socially distance from one another. The dancers were required to have facial masks on during the performances while the artistes had PPE on when not on the stage.
