Taylor Swift isn't the type to keep things close to her chest — if something bothers her, she speaks about it, especially if its unfairness to artists in the music industry. So when she won the 'Artist of the Year', she took the opportunity to let people know what she thought the industry treated artists like sometimes.

"This industry is really weird. Sometimes people like us, who do what we do, can feel like your stock is either up or down and you think people like you or they don't," she said. Adding that it was her "constants" that kept her going through a difficult time.

"The last year has had some of the best moments of my life but also some of the hardest things that I've gone through in my life and not a lot of things that have happened haven't been public," said Taylor as the crowd cheered.

Taylor's year has had a lot of upheavals, with the latest one being her feud with Big Machine and Scooter Braun after they allegedly wouldn't allow her to perform her hits of records they produced, which included all but one album from Taylor. Although that issue was sorted out, Taylor has publicly expressed the distress it has caused her. During her Artist of the Decade performance on Sunday evening, Taylor performed her old hits from her previous albums and in a significant outfit change, shed the shirt that named the albums she didn't own.

With this award, Taylor has also officially broken Michael Jackson's record for the most number of AMA wins. She now has 25 awards under her belt, compared to Jackson's 24 wins. Her latest trophy of the night was for 'Artist of the Year' where she won among a medley of artists like Ariana Grande, Drake, Halsey and Post Malone.
