AMAs 2019: Fans diss Selena Gomez's performance but love Taylor Swift's support and label it as 'women for women'
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have a long friendship history and it keeps growing stronger by the day. At the American Music Awards 2019, Gomez stunned onlookers in a satin lime green strapless Versace mini dress with ruffled detail and matching pointed-toe pumps. A sleek '90s-style lob and a layered diamond choker accented her look as she opened the starry event with a performance of 'Lose You to Love Me' and 'Look at Her Now.'
Swift, who has been a constant pillar for Gomez, was seen lending all her support yet again as she and Halsey were seen jumping in glee and dancing as she sang on the stage. Fans couldn't be happier to see Swift's reaction to Gomez's performance and have been tweeting about it ever since. "Did you just see Taylor jumping for Selena?! BFF Goals," one fan wrote and another posted, "I’m glad @selenagomez has friends like @taylorswift13 cheering for her!"
"Taylena is the cutest friendship!! The way Taylor cheers her on is the absolute best!!" another fan posted. "Love how Taylor was like the only one dancing during Selena's set! Meanwhile, Selena's performance wasn't quite up to the mark. One viewer criticized the performance saying, "If Selena Gomez can sing this bad and be this big of a star then anyone of us can make it." But that didn't deter Swift and Halsey from cheering for her.

Recently, while talking to Zane Lowe about her new hit single, 'Lose You to Love Me', the singer said longtime friends such as Swift have gotten her through some of her darkest moments. "[Taylor] was frustrated when I was frustrated, she was sad when I was sad, but more than anything, my friends stood by my side," Gomez said while fighting back tears.
A while ago, Gomez posted a selfie with Swift and her kitten and wrote, "My ride or die. I would die for this one. Thank you for forever being by my side," adding, "You have taught me so much, walked through all of this with me, STAYED and you remind me to be a better, human being. I’m on your side for life."
