AMAs 2019: Li'l Nas wins best Hip Hop/Rap and gives a touching speech as fans sigh in unison 'finally'
Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' featuring Billy Ray Cyrus won best the Hip Hop/Rap song on Sunday night's American Music Awards. Accepting the award he gave a touching speech sharing that one should not worry that their moment has passed because it is waiting for you and fans can't help but rave about the singer.
The 2019 AMAs are going on in full swing with the top artists from various genres being honored for their music. Lil Nas won the best Hip Hop/Rap song for 'Old Town Road' featuring Billy, and even though the legendary country singer couldn't make it to the show, Lil Nas shared his love for Billy in his acceptance speech. He also raved about Taylor Swift's performance revealing that she killed it.
Accepting the award he said, "Finally, you know first I wanted to say Megan you look amazing and Taylor killed it out here. And sorry that you know Billy couldn't be here tonight. I love you, Billy. And my dad right here, recording. Thank you for being here. You know I don't want to get too deep. But whether you're 30, 50, 55 you feel like your moment has passed. To know that it's waiting for you."
Taking to Twitter post his acceptance speech, fans cannot help but rave in unison sighing 'Finally' he won his much-deserved award. "Again, I said it before: Lil Nas X winning an award is gay rights! congratulations! Keep killing it! You will change the music industry!" a fan wrote.
"Lil Nas X career skyrocketed in one year can’t even be mad at the kid.. he capitalized off that one song .. congrats to him #AMAs," wrote a fan. Adding to that another said, "Finally a win!!! The fact that Lil Nas X gets to share this moment with his father embracing him touched me. #AMAs."
