'Almost Family' Season 1 Episode 8 will not be airing this week, but here's what to expect when the show returns
Spoilers for season 1 episode 8 of 'Almost Family'
After two back to back episodes last week as a part of their Thanksgiving special, Fox will not be airing any new episodes this week.
The last two episodes 'Kosher AF' and 'Thankful AF' aired back to back on Wednesday and Thursday last week as a part of Fox's Thanksgiving celebrations. This week, however, the usual Wednesday 9 pm slot is reserved for 'The Moodys', a Christmas special comedy that follows a tight-knit dysfunctional family and their Christmas celebrations in their hometown of Chicago.
In the last episode of 'Almost Family', as Julia (Brittany Snow) attempts to make new traditions in her life, her sisters' lives are in turmoil. Edie (Megalyn Echikunwoke) continues to lie to her husband Tim (Mo McRae) defiantly. She cannot bring herself to tell him the truth about her reality. It is an especially difficult space to be in and we can only imagine. But Edie, now even with her mother knowing the truth is still hiding, which is not exactly lucrative since Tim has a good idea that she is lying to his face.
At the same time, Roxy's (Emily Osment) downfall into drug abuse is getting more and more serious. After running out of her prescription, Roxy has no way of getting more. So towards the end of the episode, she steals some prescriptions from her doctor boyfriend Isaac (Mustafa Elzein).
Roxy's dependence on prescription meds was depicted on the show since the very beginning. At the time, however, we hadn't any idea that the makers would have planned to take this route. But now that she is battling addiction, we wonder what the makers have in store for her.
'Almost Family' will return for its fall finale episode titled 'Fertile AF' on December 11, 2019.
