Spoilers ahead for the premiere episode of 'Almost Family'

When the news of Dr Leon Bechley's (Timothy Hutton) actions is all over the place, it takes little time for things to worsen for those closely associated with him.

For Julia Bechley (Brittany Snow), who has lived all her life as a single child, it comes as a blow. Her father, an award-winning fertility doctor, had used his own sperm to inseminate several women through IVF which means he has fathered hundreds of children.

There is a rush in the clinic the next day for hundreds of kids born from there are seeking answers about their parentage. Of these people are Edie Palmer (Megalyn Echikunwoke), her past friend, and Roxy Doyle (Emily Osment) a retired Olympic athlete.

As Julia is still struggling to figure out the heads and tails of this controversy, Edie is flabbergasted. At the same time, Roxy is the only one who is excited about the fact that these people who were strangers one day are related to her the next day. She even brings to the clinic an excited air.

The next day, Roxy plays her a visit and tells her that she would like to know her better now that they're sisters, only to be pushed away by Julia, who not only shows her uninterest but also asks her to leave. Before leaving, Roxy bears her heart out to Julia telling her that she had always wanted a sister growing up - someone who would understand her.

Later in the night, as Roxy is in her car, Julia pays her a visit and takes her home. Apologizing for her behavior, she takes her home.

With Roxy in the bathroom, Edie comes over as well after her little tussle with her husband. After realizing Roxy is there, Edie's immediate reaction is to leave, but "You're not the only one whose life got pulled apart," Julia tells her as she welcomes her to stay back at her house for as long as she wishes to - welcoming her as a sister.

'Almost Family' airs Wednesdays at 9 PM ET/PT on Fox.
