'AGT' 2022: Angry fans slam The Mayyas' win, say 'they have already won other talent shows'
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: 'America's Got Talent' fans watched with bated breath as host Terry Crews read out the name of the winner of season 17, who would be taking home a whopping $1 Million and an opportunity to be the headlining act in the entertainment capital of the world- Las Vegas! When Terry announced that Lebanese all-female dance troupe The Mayyas were the winners, fans had mixed feelings about it.
While the fans couldn't deny that the dancers were incredibly talented, they however couldn't help but point out how the competition seemed skewed in their favor considering The Mayyas had already won 'Arab Got Talent' in 2019, and even appeared on 'Britain's Got Talent: The Champions'. Several fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure with the 'AGT' season 17 champions.

A fan tweeted, "An act that’s already one another talent competition in another country shouldn’t have won. They’re act is good sure, but not sustainable. But hey, the better acts aren’t going to be locked into a contract they can’t get out of and only getting $20,000 a year for 50 years. #AGT." "Do people not know that the #mayyas have already won other talent shows? #AGT #unfair #advantage," wondered a fan. "The Mayyas is amazing and I'm not taking anything away from what they can do but they already won a Got Talent on Arabs Got Talent 2019. A different act should have gotten it. #AGT," commented a fan.

Another fan shared, "I like The Mayyas but they won Arabs Got Talent & were on BGT: the Champions. They shouldn't be allowed to compete with other acts that haven't had that experience (same with Kristy Sellars who won in Australia). Make it a fair and level playing field. @agt #AGTFinale #agt." "As great as the three acts that got through are, I find it fair to point out that they all won a Got Talent show in their home countries. Arab's Got Talent (Mayyas) Australia's Got Talent (Kristy) and Spain's Got Talent (Celia.) #AGT," expressed a fan. "#agt people who have won before (like sara james and mayyas ) should not be allowed to participate," declared a fan.
